More Summer 2014 Anime First Impressions

Exactly as the title says, here are a few more first impressions of the anime series that have debuted this season.

Momo Kyun Sword
So this is pretty much a magical girl anime based on Japanese folklore. This is very much an anime that has strong focus on fanservice, so it won’t be to everyone’s taste. Still, I enjoyed the first episode and I look forward to seeing what happens.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei!
Magical girl Illya returns once again. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing more from this one, especially considering the quality of the action scenes in the first season.

Encouragement of Climb Season 2
Continuing from where the first season left off, this is a nice slice-of-life anime about girls who climb mountains. It may not stand out compared to everything else, but it is enjoyable enough.

Ai Mai Mi: Mousou Catastrophe
It’s more Ai Mai Mi, so that means more weirdness. The episodes are less than four minutes each, but that’s more than enough time for some bizarre goings-on.

Tokyo ESP
I really enjoyed the first episode of this. Fans of Ga-Rei: Zero will recognise a few characters, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, there was plenty of action and the esper’s powers look to be interesting. I’m definitely intrigued by this and eagerly anticipate more episodes.
