Recently, there was a Japanese Nintendo Direct focusing on the 3DS. It was there that a trailer for a new character for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for 3DS was revealed.
The new character is Shulk, from Xenoblade Chronicles. He wields the Monado, a sword that allows him to see visions of the future. He is able to use those visions to altar the course of fate. Here’s the trailer:
I am certainly happy with this reveal. Xenoblade Chronicles is an amazing game, and Shulk is a great character. Shulk also brings along the Guar Plains stage, and the incredible music from Xenoblade Chronicles. That includes my favourite track from the game, ‘You Will Know Our Names’.
I’m looking forward to the release of Super Smash Bros. now more than ever.
