Valentine’s Day approaches in the third volume of Moke Yuzuhara’s Adachi and Shimamura manga adaptation. Naturally, Adachi does not intend to let that pass by without doing something with Shimamura. If only she could pluck up the courage to- wait a minute, that seems familiar…
This volume contains chapters thirteen through to eighteen, plus a bonus short story written by Hitoma Iruma.Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Adachi once again finds herself unsure of how to ask Shimamura to spend the holiday with her. What’s more, she’s determined to whip up the best chocolates she can to make the event truly special, but she has no clue what Shimamura likes, and she’s no chocolatier. Against all odds, will her feelings get through to the girl she loves?
Yet another volume of the Adachi and Shimamura manga, and yep, Adachi’s gay panic steps up a gear from the previous volume. This volume covers the days leading up to Valentine’s as well as the day itself, and we get both Adachi’s and Shimamura’s perspectives. Of course from Adachi’s side its mostly fretting over whether she should make the chocolates or buy ready-made.
Shimamura’s a bit more calm about the whole thing. That isn’t to say that nothing particularly interesting happens on her side – in fact, she runs into an old friend. That leaves Shimamura really considering who she has become, and if she is still the same girl that her friend knew from back then.
Even spending time together with her friend, Shimamura’s mind mostly seems to be occupied with Adachi.
Adachi and Shimamura have their own things to deal with in the run up to Valentine’s Day, and then the event arrives. Shimamura even does something a little extra, which is definitely a critical hit on Adachi.
Fun stuff from this adaptation of Adachi and Shimamura. Consistently keeping the tone of the original work from the light novel, and giving us a different way to perceive the development of Adachi and Shimamura’s relationship as time goes by.
