The end is nigh in the forty-fifth episode of Tropical-Rouge! PreCure – and even if the Cures can prevent that from happening, it doesn’t change the fact that this season of PreCure is almost over. They’re gonna have to fight to make it to the end, though.
It’s the final battle in this episode, as the Tropical Cures face the powered-up Butler. He’s determined to bring about the destruction of the world, at any cost. Naturally, Cure Summer and the others have no intention of giving up that easily.
There’s quite a bit going on with this episode, so let’s start by showing some appreciation for Chongi-re, Numeri and Elde. It’s pretty amusing that they’re not quite motivated enough to be affected by having their Motivation Power stolen. Then they lend their aid to PreCure by taking on the Kowasundas. They’ve been a great group of villains throughout, and that has continued right up until the end.
We’ve got some incredible looking moments from this episode of Tropical-Rouge! PreCure – which earned it comparisons to Gurren Lagann. There’s not much I can say, but I can share screenshots so we can appreciate it.
The fight against Butler is a little on the short side, but at least it looks proper good. However, it does lead to what possibly might the best greatest finisher of the entire franchise.
I don’t know who decided to make the Tropical Cures’ ultimate attack an acid trip, but I definitely appreciate that they did. There’s no way that any other attack in the franchise could possibly top the sheer absurdity of what we have here.
Butler doesn’t give up so easily, but I won’t go into detail about that.
Instead, I’ll focus on the Tropical Club going back to their everyday lives as if nothing happened. Certain people are able to make an educated guess as to what transpired, though – such as Yuriko. I’m pretty sure Yuriko didn’t buy Asuka’s denial of it.
This episode ends with Laura receiving some news from the Queen, and being faced with a decision. We’ll have to wait until next time to find out what her answer will be.
Another superb episode of Tropical-Rouge! PreCure. We got some great looking stuff out of it, the best finisher the franchise has given us, and even some good stuff from the former villains. Not the best final fight I’ve seen in PreCure (Splash Star still holds that honour for me). At least it looked amazing, and everything around it was superb, too.
I believe the next episode is the final one, so expect a review. I’ll also update my ranking of all the PreCure seasons to include this one. Tropical-Rouge! PreCure may be coming to an end soon, but I’ll definitely look back fondly on it.
