In the thirtieth episode of Tropical-Rouge! PreCure, Laura decides to try running for student council president.

Laura declares her intention to run for student council president
With the election for student council president approaching, Laura decides she might as well try running for it. She has some… interesting policies, let’s say. She also has some pretty solid competition.

On the campaign trail
Whilst the main focus of this particular episode is Laura’s campaign to become student council president, I think the biggest thing I’ll be taking away from it comes from Asuka and Yuriko. We get slight hints here and there about their relationship with each other, and then some flat out confirmation about something from their past.

Yuriko and Asuka were in the Tennis Club together
Manatsu, Laura and Sango are shocked to learn that Asuka was in the Tennis Club before, alongside Yuriko. Funnily enough, Minori was totally aware of it, but never thought it was something worth mentioning.
Seems like we’re building up towards something with Asuka and Yuriko, and I’m looking forward to seeing what it could be.

Super Zettai Yarane-da
Before we get to that, though, there’s the matter of this episode and Laura’s campaign. Of course an enemy attack coincides with the final speeches, but Manatsu and the others insist that Laura stays behind to deal with that.
Of course, their foe is one of the new variants of Yarane-da, so Cure Summer and company don’t exactly have an easy time of it.

Cure La Mer knows what her priorities should be
After dealing with the enemy, the episode wraps up and things go pretty much as you’d expect. Makes sense; of course there would be consequences for just walking out in the middle of a speech.
Anyways, fun episode. Really quite looking forward to seeing where the whole Asuka and Yuriko thing is going to go.
Next time, Asuka’s off on a graduation trip.
