Spring 2021 Anime: What I Will Be Watching

It’s that time of the season again: the end is almost upon us. As that is the case, I shall be looking ahead to the anime that I will be watching during the spring 2021 season. There is one title in particular that I am super hyped about.
Information is taken from LiveChart.me, as ever.

Battle Athletes Victory ReSTART!

I’m not really all that familiar with Battle Athletes, but that PV has certainly sold me on it. Seems to be about some kind of interstellar athletics event, I guess. Whatever it is, looks fun.
Premiere date: 10/4/2021

Blue Reflection Ray

All I know about Blue Reflection is that it was originally a video game, about magical girls, I think. I love me some magical girl anime, so of course I’ll be watching this one.
Premiere date: 9/4/2021

Farewell, My Dear Cramer

Girls’ football anime. I can’t stand football in real life, but make an anime about it, and I’ll happily check it out.
Premiere date: 4/4/2021

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

This is easily my most anticipated show of the season. I absolutely adore the I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level light novels, and have eagerly been anticipating the anime ever since it was announced.
The music in the PV is perfect, too, so hopefully the OST will maintain that feel it has.
I’ll definitely be covering this one weekly, because I want to share the good word of the Witch of the Highlands with as many people as I can.
Premiere date: 10/4/2021

Let’s Make a Mug Too

An anime about girls doing pottery. A simple concept, and exactly the kind of thing I like to watch.
Premiere date: 2/4/2021

My Hero Academia 5th Season

Deku and the other heroes return in the fifth season of My Hero Academia. Since I’ve watched the previous four seasons, I’ll be watching this one as well.
Premiere date: 27/3/2021

Shadows House

This one is about dolls who serve faceless shadow nobles. Has an air of mystery about it, making it look quite intriguing.
Premiere date: 10/4/2021

Super Cub

An anime about a lonely, directionless girl who ends up acquiring a Honda Super Cub. New adventures and friendships open up before her.
Could this potentially be just a twelve-episode advert for a motorbike? Yes. Am I still going to watch it regardless? Also yes. I just hope this is one more BAKUON!! and less Two Car.
Premiere date: 7/4/2021

The World Ends With You The Animation

An anime adaptation of the The World Ends With You game. I really enjoyed game when I played (once on DS, and again on Switch), so of course I’ll be checking this one out. I’m hoping they find some way to work the game’s incredible OST in there somewhere. Won’t hold my breath, though.
Premiere date: 9/4/2021

Zombie Land Saga Revenge

The second season of Zombie Land Saga. The first one had that surprise factor that really made it memorable. It’ll be interesting to see what this one gives us now we know what we can expect. Maybe they still have plenty of surprises up their sleeve for us.
Premiere date: 8/4/2021

Besides the shows listed above, there is also a series of shorts based on Yuki Yuna is a Hero. Couldn’t find a PV for that one, though.

My list could change, but I know that no matter what happens, I shall definitely be watching I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level. So excited about that one.

Continuing shows are BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS, One Piece and Tropical-Rouge! PreCure. I might get back into Aikatsu Planet at some point, but don’t hold your breath on that one.

A fair bit to look forward to for the next season.
