In the twenty-second episode of Healin’ Good ♡ PreCure, you’ll be able to see right through Asumi. Asumi’s feelings prove to be a little much for Latte, and apparently Asumi has quite a unique way of expressing sadness.
In this episode, Asumi insists on taking care of Latte. However, she goes to extreme lengths to do so, which results in Latte avoiding her. Asumi doesn’t take well to being rejected and starts fading away. Chiyu takes it upon herself to help Asumi understand the feelings she has.
The previous episode was about Nodoka’s interactions with Asumi, and this time around it is Chiyu. Don’t worry; Hinata will get her turn. I’m glad to see that Asumi is completely hogging the spotlight.
Part of this episode is quite simply Chiyu spending some quality time with Asumi, talking about what it means to “like” something. Asumi is still pretty naive in the ways of the world, so it is up to Nodoka, Chiyu and Hinata to help her out.
It is nice to see Chiyu back at the high jump again. Of course, that is something she likes, and will keep doing even with repeated failures. This is all just to demonstrate a point to Asumi. Regardless of what it is, I’m happy to see Chiyu jumping again. I’m still convinced there’s going to be a point where she’ll have to choose between innkeeping and high jump, but that’s potentially a story for a future episode.
Right on schedule, Shindoine brings a Mega Byo-gen along to disrupt proceedings. Whilst Asumi’s busy fading away, Nodoka, Chiyu and Hinata take it upon themselves to fight. They do fine, until the Mega Byo-gen is powered up with Mega Parts.
Whilst Grace, Fontaine and Sparkle do their thing, Asumi is able to come to terms with her own feelings and make amends with Latte. No longer fading away, she joins the fight.
The fight against the Mega Byo-gen concludes. One thing that I want to note is that the way PreCure use the Element Bottles during battle brings to mind the Linkle Stones from Maho Girls PreCure! – or more specifically, the ones that Cure Miracle and Cure Magical use in Diamond Style. I think that’s a neat little similarity.
This episode wraps up, and it was yet another enjoyable one. I had thought that it might have specifically focused on Asumi, so it was certainly a pleasant surprise to see Chiyu get some focus, too.
Seems like this set of episodes are all about Asumi’s interactions with Nodoka, Chiyu and Hinata respectively. Two down, and one to go.
So next time, it is Hinata’s turn. Seems like she’ll be teaching Asumi the concept of cute.
