Summer will be a relatively quiet season for me in terms of anime that I’ll be watching. Still going to do my first impressions post, though, since there are three new shows that I want to share my initial thoughts about. So I might as well just jump straight in.
Lapis Re:LiGHTS
This was such a great way to kick off the summer. We got an introduction to the world of Lapis Re:LiGHTS, with its magic school. Of course, the main characters were introduced as well, and they are just as good as the setting. The things going on here tick all the right boxes for me. So very much looking forward to more.
UMAYON
It is nice to see the girls from Umamusume: Pretty Derby once again, even if it is only for three minutes each week. Still, those three minutes were spent being pretty amusing, so at least there’s that.
The God of High School
The God of High School had a really quite amusing first episode, and the martial arts action looks good. I’m glad I decided to pick this one up on a whim, since it is off to a very strong start.
That concludes my first impressions of the new shows I’ll be watching during the summer season. There are handful of continuing shows alongside the three listed here as well, but I’ll have more to say about those halfway through the season. Until then, stay safe out there.
