A new season of anime is approaching! This one will be a quiet one for me, as there is only one new show I want to pick up. Fortunately, a few shows that were delayed due to COVID-19 are also resuming, so there will be a bit of variety.
As ever, information is taken from LiveChart.me.
Here’s the shows that will be resuming during this season:
A Certain Scientific Railgun T – It appears that the second cour of this season will actually adapt another arc from the manga, rather than giving us an anime original story. Very much looking forward to seeing the Dream Ranker arc animated. A Certain Scientific Railgun T resumes on July 24th.
Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater – Patience is key when fishing, and fans of this show have had to patiently wait for its hiatus to end. The fishing girls will be back on our screens for this season. Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater resumes on July 28th.
Healin’ Good ♡ PreCure – I am psyched that PreCure will be returning, and relatively soon, at the time of writing, too. I wonder if the hiatus will result in this being the shortest season of PreCure… also, a recent announcement suggests that they might be speeding the plot up a bit. Guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Healin’ Good ♡ PreCure resumes on June 28th.
One Piece – Another Toei show that went on hiatus and is resuming. The Wano arc is still ongoing, and from having read the manga, there are some very interesting things to look forward to. One Piece resumes on June 28th.
I haven’t seen any word on when BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS will return, but I imagine it won’t be far behind the shows mentioned here.
All right, so here’s my single pick for the summer 2020 season of anime:
This show is based on a mixed media project that blends fantasy, magical girl and idol elements. That’s combination that immediately grabs my interest, hence my decision to watch this show.
Lapis Re: LiGHTs starts airing on July 4th.
Summer is going to be a really quiet season, but it looks like things will really start picking up again once autumn rolls around. Until then, though, a quieter season.
