Episode 32 of Hugtto! PreCure is one that focuses on Homare and Harry, so let’s just get into it straight away.
I’ll star with the appearance of the monster of the week. It actually happens really early on in the episode, and ends up sending Cure Etoile and Harry to a virtual world created from their hearts.
Bishin was specifically targeting Harry, so doesn’t take it too well when Etoile gets caught up in the trap.
Homare ends up playing the role of the Little Mermaid in this episode, and Harry is the prince. Whilst Homare is stuck doing that in the virtual world, the other Cures are outside attempting to save her.
The Wild Oshimaidaa zaps the other Cures, dressing them as various fairytale characters. Back to Homare and Harry, the two dance together at a ball but then Bishin shows up, along with the person who is first in Harry’s heart.
Bishin tells Homare that Harry never had eyes for her, and continues to taunt her until she falls into despair. Bishin is not surprised to see who the person is – it is someone that Harry has loved and lost, but they remain firmly in his heart.
Homare is in the depths of despair, but she hears the voices of her friends and is able to leap out of them and confront Bishin.
Bishin and Etoile fight, at least until Etoile is able to smash Bishin’s VR goggles and thus escape from the virtual world.
Back in the real world, PreCure finish off the Wild Oshimaidaa, and Bishin returns to Criasu Corp.
This episode reveals not just Bishin’s fairy form, but Listol’s as well. Didn’t see that coming.
Well, apparently Hugtto! PreCure‘s creator has gone on the record to say that Bishin is actually male. So that’s a thing.
As for this episode, it did present some interesting things – Bishin and Listol’s true forms, and a glimpse into Harry’s past. Of course, mermaid Homare was also a highlight – all in all, a decent episode. Whilst I don’t really care for HomaHarry, this was still a fairly solid episode.
Next time, Henri is back in what potentially looks like another EmiRuru episode. Seems Criasu are quite eager for new recruits, too…
