New Nintendo Direct airs on Wednesday

Nintendo Direct September 2017Nintendo have tweeted that a new Nintendo Direct will be airing on Wednesday 13th September. It will start at 23:00 BST, and will last for around 45 minutes.
The Direct will be mainly focused on what is heading to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS family systems, including new details about Super Mario Odyssey.
You will be able to watch the Direct live on either Nintendo’s YouTube channel or the Nintendo Direct website (those links are for Nintendo UK).

If this Direct retains the quick-fire style of the recent ones, than 45 minutes will result in a lot of content. We already know that Super Mario Odyssey is featured, but as for everything else… well, it’s time for same speculation.
A good place to start with speculation for a Nintendo Direct is generally the games that are being released in the coming months. As such, it seems likely that Pokkén Tournament DX and Fire Emblem Warriors will feature. As for 3DS titles, Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon will likely be present. Metroid: Samus Returns will also probably get a mention, considering its release date is two days after the Direct…

I think it would be pretty neat to see the likes of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 and Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon featured – but that’s simply because those two games I will be picking up.

As things stand, what I most want to see from this Direct is a release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 2. That is easily one of my most anticipated titles of this year – alongside the aforementioned Super Mario Odyssey, Nights of Azure 2, and Fire Emblem Warriors.

Talking of Fire Emblem Warriors, a Direct seems like a good place to reveal more playable characters. I’m still waiting for a playable Manakete – I’ll keep repeating this, but the Tiki amiibo makes that seem very likely.
I certainly wouldn’t mind more details about the next title in the Fire Emblem series for the Switch, but that’s probably very unlikely at this point.

An English-language version of Monster Hunter XX would also be most welcome. I don’t know how likely that will be with Monster Hunter: World coming out on other consoles, but dreaming is free.

More third-party stuff will also be welcomed. Aren’t From Software developing something for the Switch? Maybe we could see Dark Souls or something like that on the console.

I seem to have seen a lot of people eager for a new Animal Crossing, so maybe their wishes will be fulfilled. You always get the people wanting a new F-Zero or Metroid – oh, wait, the wishes for more Metroid have already been granted.
But yeah, I’d be down with a new F-Zero – heck, just give us a HD remaster of F-Zero GX.

Thinking back to E3, I’d like to see more information on the new Kirby and Yoshi games they announced there.

There’s a fair amount of stuff that could fill up that 45 minute running time, but the only way I’m going to find out what is by watching it. I might Tweet along with the Direct whilst it is airing. I will be posting my thoughts on it on here, either right after the event or the morning after.
