Happy New Year! Plans and Desires for 2017

A new year has arrived, and I figured it would be nice to take a moment just to say happy new year.
I guess it’s fitting to share what I plan to do with my blog in 2017 – and it’s mostly just more of the same.

I’ll continue to follow anime on a seasonal basis, and after covering Magical Girl Raising Project, ViVid Strike! and FLIP FLAPPERS last season on a weekly basis, I’ll be doing the same with a handful of shows of the winter season.
I have a vague idea of what I would like to cover at the time of writing, but I will see how things go based on first impressions.
My Maho Girls PreCure! coverage will continue right up to its conclusion, which must only be about 4 episodes away at the time of writing, give or take. There’ll definitely be a review for it, and I will have to update my PreCure ranking accordingly, too.
As for Kirakira PreCure A La Mode… I don’t know whether I’ll cover it or not. I’m waiting to see the first episode before I make any decisions on that.

Anime reviews will continue as usual.

Starting from next weekend, I’m hoping to get back into a regular routine of posting my Thoughts on Manga posts every weekend – I’ve still got a lot of Bleach volumes to cover, and I also picked up volume 2 of Cells at Work! and volume 1 of Kiniro Mosaic recently.

I’d also like to get more top tens out there – I can already tell you that my top ten magical girls has changed after the autumn 2016 season, so you can expect the new updated list soon.
There’ll be series-specific top tens, but I also intend to do things like top ten weapons or whatever that can cover multiple series. I don’t how often I’ll do these posts – it might be whenever I feel like it, or it could become a regular feature.

As for video game stuff… well, the Nintendo Switch is due out later this year – I intend to buy one, so I’ll probably be sharing my thoughts on that on here at some point. Of course, there’s the small matter of the Nintendo Switch presentation on January 13th before that.
For non-Nintendo stuff, I did treat myself to a PS Vita game recently – Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1. I’ll probably share my thoughts on that once I’ve finished it – I believe I’m currently halfway through at the time of writing this.

I’ll also be writing novels, though that’s mostly for myself. If I finish any, I’ll be sending the manuscript to publishers in hope of getting it published – any news regarding that will almost certainly be shared here.
Outside of novels, I’d be willing to share any short stories I write out of boredom. I just have nothing planned at the moment, what with me focusing on the novel at the moment.
Though saying that, there is something I would love to create – a visual novel. I have the idea for a plot and the central characters, and I’ve even played around with Ren’Py a bit. Actually, I think I’ll create another post to talk about that idea on its own.

I’ve also been toying with the idea of writing fanfiction and sharing it on here. It’ll probably mostly be one shot stuff if I did, though I do happen to have a Puella Magi Madoka Magica fanfiction with original characters saved on my computer that extends for a few chapters. There’s no guarantee of that happening, but it might be fun to experiment just to see what kind of reception it gets.

As you can see, I’ve got a few different ideas lined up for 2017. I honestly have no idea if I’ll follow up on the visual novel or fanfiction ideas, but I guess there’s no harm in keeping them open for consideration.

Regardless, here’s to 2017, and let’s hope it will be a good year.

    Happy New Year!
Have you read the Puella Magi spin off books?

If you’re referring to the manga spin offs, then yes I have. I’ve shared my thoughts on Kazumi Magica, Homura’s Revenge, Suzune Magica, Puella Magi Homura Tamura and Oriko Magica on here before. I also intend to share my thoughts on Puella Magi Tart Magica: The Legend of “Jeanne d’Arc” at some point.
