London MCM Comic Con May 2016 Stuff

After having spent many hours in the ExCel Centre in London for the MCM Comic Con, I’m back and I’ll be sharing with you the stuff I bought back, as well as a few other photos where you’ll get to see my actual face.
If you follow me on Twitter (click here for that), then you’ll probably be aware of a few of the purchases I made. Stopping to take a picture of everything I bought would have been inconvenient, but now I’m back home I’ve got plenty of space and time to do that stuff.
And I have done that stuff. Let’s take a look at what I got up to at the Comic Con (mostly buying things).

Let’s kick this off with a couple of photos of me. First up, Capcom were celebrating the upcoming release of Monster Hunter Generations, and encouraging people to get their photo taken whilst wielding one of Monster Hunter‘s ridiculously oversized weapons. Naturally, I took the opportunity to do just that.

I went for the Great Sword. If Dual Blades, an Insect Glaive or a Bow had been an option, I would have chosen one of them.

I also picked up a Monster Hunter blind box. Naturally, I didn’t know which monster was inside until I opened it, but I’m pretty happy with what I got.

It’s an Astalos, one of the new monsters in Monster Hunter Generations

Actually, the Great Sword wasn’t the only weapon I was able to lay my hands on during the event. Anime Limited, or All the Anime, had a couple of areas set up for photo opportunities – one was Tokyo Ghoul, whilst the other was Psycho-Pass. Being a fan of Psycho-Pass, I got a photo taken there.

Here’s a closer shot of me holding the Dominator

I also entered a competition to win a Dominator replica that transforms, so fingers crossed for that.

Since I’ve mentioned Anime Limited, that leads nicely on to showing off the new anime DVDs I bought this time around, as well as a couple of volumes of manga.

Anime DVDs: One Piece Collection 6, Dragon Ball Z Season 4, Bleach Series 15, Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Complete Series & Expelled from Paradise. Manga: Akuma no Riddle: Riddle Story of Devil Volume 3 & Puella Magi Suzune Magica Volume 3

Fairly light on the volumes of manga this time around. They did have the first volume of Anne-Happy and three volumes of School-Live!, but I think I’ll wait a while before I start another new series of manga.

It’s also become traditional for me to pay a visit to the TokyoToys stand to pick up a ‘Pocky addict pack’, though there were also another couple of purchases I made from them.

Sylveon and Kyubey plushies, plus a whole bunch of Pocky

Another tradition I have is to pick up a deck of anime-themed playing cards, and this time around was no exception either.

A few of the Sailor Moon playing cards

Switching focus back to me for a moment, I bought myself a new t-shirt. Also have a couple of selfies, because I’m even going to show off the free paper hats that were being handed out to everyone.

As soon as I saw Kiniro Mosaic, I just had to buy this t-shirt

Then we have Rory, Hello Kitty version

All right, I’m done with pictures of myself. I do, however, have one last thing to show. This was another item I bought as soon as I laid my eyes upon it.

HeartCatch PreCure!’s Cure Moonlight, who also happens to be my favourite Cure from the entire franchise

It’s great that I’m able to find PreCure stuff at the Comic Con, but there was a distinct lack of anything to do with Symphogear. Perhaps some time in the future, I’ll be able to find something like that. And if I get really desperate, and would be willing to pay any postage, I could always use the internet.

I also picked up a small Super Saiyan Goku figure from Tamashii Nations, which I gave to my youngest brother as a birthday gift – well, a slightly late birthday gift; his birthday was two days before I went to the Comic Con.

That covers everything. I’m definitely really pleased with my new items, and I will be spending a lot of time with them over the next couple of months at least. I will be sharing my thoughts on the new manga I’ve picked up some time in the future, but that will be after I’ve finished with Soul Eater. Not many volumes of that to go now.
I’ll also be posting about all the different anime announcements from across the weekend – there’s some pretty interesting stuff on the way to the UK. With that all said and done, it’s about time I caught up with the stuff I missed due to being out all day.

About Rory

I enjoy writing, manga, anime and video games, so naturally here on my blog, you will find anime reviews, Nintendo news and other such things that I deem interesting.

  1. The Otaku Judge says:

Nice pics monster hunter. Looks like you slayed a cat and used its remains to craft some head gear.
