It feels like it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything here – probably due to starting a new job. However, I’ve come across something worth posting about.
The second season of Gatchaman Crowds, entitled Gatchaman Crowds insight, is due to premier in July. As you can probably tell from that title up there, a few new characters have been revealed. I shall be taking a look at them here.
16-year-old second year high school girl, Tsubasa Misudachi, will be voiced by Kaori Ishihara (Cross Ange, The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat). Tsubasa is a new Gatchaman, and Hajime’s new partner. She possesses an impulsive personality, and slips into her home city’s dialect when she is angry.
19-year-old medical student Rizumu Suzuki will be voiced by Yuichiro Umehara (Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, Orenchi no Furo Jijō). Rizumu attends a famous university, and is a realist. He considers Rui and Crowds to be dangerous, and starts a mysterious organisation.
An alien named Gelsadora will be voiced by Kana Hanazawa (Sketchbook ~full color’S~, Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches). Gelsadora makes an emergency landing in a spaceship in front of Tsubasa’s house, and becomes attached to Tsubasa. As a pacifist, Gelsadora is under the protection of the Gatchaman.
So, yeah, I’m looking forward to the return of Hajime and the other Gatchaman this summer. I enjoyed the first season, so having more suits me just fine.
I shall leave you with the teaser blurb from the Gatchaman Crowds insight website:
We want to know about ourselves.
About the fact there is no “society” in our “country”
About “society” and “people” living in different worlds
Feeling and reason
What is crucial is “thinking,” not “worrying”
Modern people are too “fast” – we breath shallow and quick
“We” are terrible at being slow and deep
Season one was cool, aside from the rushed ending. I’m looking forward to this next installment.
Should be interesting to see what the new characters will bring to the show.
