The first Nintendo Direct of 2015 has come and gone, and here’s the video in case you haven’t seen it yet:
I’ll be going over the things that interested me most, so not everything featured in the video will be covered here.
First up, a new entry in the Fire Emblem series. This news had made be extremely happy, since more Fire Emblem cannot be a bad thing. The same character designer returns, but there is a new story written by Shin Kibayashi.
There will be a new wave of amiibo available on April 24th, which include Robin and Lucina. As far as I can tell, the amiibo of Robin is the male version only. Still, those are things that I have much interest in acquiring.
We got a rather vague description of a game that Bandai Namco Games is working on, tentatively called Project Treasure. It will be free, and feature 4 player co-op. We’ll need to wait for more information about this.
The main hub of Splatoon was shown, which contains several shops where players can buy new weapons and clothing for their Inklings. There are also three types of weapon: main, secondary and special.
Splatoon is due to be released in May.
There was another video of Xenoblade Chronicles X, and that game looks amazing every time I see it. It is due for release this year.
As suspected, we were given more information about the New Nintendo 3DS and the New Nintendo 3DS XL. Basically, they are upgrades of the current 3DS systems, and both will be launched February 13th.
Also being launched on February 13th is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. There will also be a limited edition Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate New Nintendo 3DS XL made available.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, which will only be playable on the New Nintendo 3DS, will be launched on April 2nd. It’s a port of the Wii classic, with a bonus mode that allows players to view 3D models and listen to the incredible soundtrack.
Finally, the last announcement of interest to me was the release date for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D. It will be released on February 13th. Also, there will be a limited edition The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D New Nintendo 3DS XL available on the same day.
A pretty good Nintendo Direct, in my opinion.
