As you can see from the title, the Nintendo UK Twitter page has posted a tweet stating that there will be a new Nintendo Direct on the 5th November, 10PM UK time. It will be focusing on upcoming 3DS and Wii U games.
I reckon it is also time for some speculation on the matter.
So, Nintendo has a lot going on that they could talk about in this Direct. I wouldn’t be surprised to see mention of the New 3DS, maybe with a release date for Europe.
If they have to mention Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, it will probably just be for a trailer for one of the new characters (Miiverse users probably know who) and confirmation of the game being released on 28th November instead of 5th December in Europe.
The other big release in November is Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Also set for release on 28th November, we may just get a glimpse of a new Mega Evolution.
We can probably expect more details about DLC for Hyrule Warriors and Mario Kart 8 – both games have some due out this month.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker isn’t due out until January in Europe, but I imagine it will feature in this Direct.
EU release dates for Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight and WayForward’s Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse would be extremely nice. Who knows, maybe the former will be available right after the presentation…? That kind of thing tends to happen during these events.
Now this is the part that is purely guesswork, with very little evidence to back it up. Basically, things I would love to see.
Top of the list would have to be Project Zero V (some of you might know it better as Fatal Frame V) – there hasn’t been any confirmation of a European release date yet, but I figure the chances of seeing outside of Japan are relatively strong what with Nintendo co-owning the franchise with Tecmo Koei. Also, trophies of the characters from the second game have featured in Sakurai’s Miiverse posts. However, that could hold no meaning whatsoever…
Up next would have to be a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. It seems we’ve been seeing countless hints at this, and it would certainly be nice to see some concrete evidence.
Sticking with the 3DS, Attack on Titan: The Last Wings of Mankind received a rating from the Australian classifications board not too long ago… maybe that will make an appearance…
I would welcome more information about Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X and the next Zelda game on Wii U, but I don’t think those are titles we will be seeing in early 2015.
However, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is due out early 2015, and it seems to be collaborating with everything. Since a lot of those are Nintendo-themed collaborations, we’ll probably have access to them outside of Japan. Information on that would certainly make me happy.
Going back to the New 3DS, if a release date is announced for that, I imagine we will also see the port of Xenoblade Chronicles for it as well.
Of course, this is all only speculation. However, I will post after I’ve seen the presentation, going over the news and my reactions to the announcements.
