From today (23rd May) until Sunday (25th May), the MCM Comic Con is being held in London. I will be attending it on Saturday, dressed up in my Attack on Titan cosplay.
There’s a lot going on, and I figured I’d post about the stuff that interest me.
I will definitely be visiting the Manga UK and MVM Entertainment stalls. Those are two of the companies that license anime for distribution in the UK, just in case you didn’t know. I’m aiming to pick up Fate/Zero from the latter. Manga UK have posted a few deals on their social network sites that interest me, including K-On! season 2 and Black Lagoon. I will also probably pick up some more Bleach and One Piece DVDs. Oh, and it also appears that Manga UK will be selling the Ashens and the Quest for the Game Child DVD and Blu-Ray, well before its actual release date.
In addition to that, Dr. Stuart Ashen will be there as well, with Riyad Barmania and Yiannis Vassilakis; the director and producer of Ashens and the Quest for the Game Child respectively.
If you’ve never heard of Ashens, I recommend getting on YouTube right now and watching his videos.
Tokyo Toys will also be there as well. I tend to pick up anime-themed playing cards from them, as well as Pocky. They will be selling £15 Pocky packs, 50 of which contain golden tickets. The prizes include a Yoshi 3DS XL, Pocky, shirts, plushies, totes and badges.
Going back to Manga UK once again, they will be holding a panel on Saturday to announce new releases. There will also be a panel with the director of Blue Exorcist: The Movie Atsushi Takahashi, and the producer, Inoue Takamitsu.
Atsushi Takahashi and Inoue Takamitsu will also holding two signing sessions.
Several voice actors will also be present.
There’ll be plenty of video games to play there as well. Nintendo, Bandai Namco, Warner Bros. Games and many others will be present. Nintendo are also hosting a pop-up shop with items available exclusively from the official Nintendo UK store. Oh, and there is also the chance to play Mario Kart 8, taking part in mini tournaments.
On Sunday, there will be panels with Aniplex of America, Manga UK, Anime Limited and MVM Entertainment. Unfortunately, I won’t be there on that day, but I will certainly look forward to whatever announcements will be made.
There’s always loads going on at the MCM Comic Con, so further information can be found here.
Hopefully I’ll be able to attend an anime convention one day. Have fun at yours dood.
