Spring 2014 Anime of Interest

The beginning of the April marks the start of a new anime season, so I reckon about now would be a good time to take a look at what new anime interests me. Don’t expect the air dates to be accurate; after all, this is the internet. Still, hopefully I get them right.

First things first, the anime series that I will definitely be watching.

Akuma no Riddle (Riddle of Story of Devil)

At a private girls’ boarding school, Myoujou Academy, a girl named Haru Ichinose is targeted by twelve assassins. A recent transfer student named Tokaku Azuma is also targeting Haru, but she develops feelings for her and swears to protect her.
This anime is part of both the yuri and action genres, and is probably my most anticipated anime of the spring 2014 season. Akuma no Riddle is due to air from April 4th.

Blade & Soul

An anime adaptation of a Korean MMORPG. It seems to focus on martial arts. This looks like it will provide some action, and that’s the reason I will definitely be watching it. Simple. Blade & Soul will air from April 4th

Gochuumon Wa Usagi Desu Ka(Is the Order a Rabbit?)

This is also known as GochiUsa. It is a slice of life anime, set in a bunny café. I’m always up for some slice of life anime, so I’ll be watching this.
Gochuumon Wa Usagi Desu Ka is due to air from April 10th.

Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san

This will be a series of shorts based upon Kuzushiro’s four-panel yuri manga. The anime covers the relationship between the cat-loving Yachiyo Inugami and the dog-loving Suzu Nekoyama.
I’m always up for some yuri, and it seems that there are plenty of series that will provide that this season.
Inugami-san to Nekoyama-san is due to air from April 4th.

selector infected WIXOSS

Using special cards that have wills of their own, girls fight in order to get their wish granted.
I think this one has the potential to be interesting, even if it is just an advert for the card game.
selector infected WIXOSS is due to air from April 3rd.

Soul Eater Not!

This is a spin-off of Soul Eater. It focuses on Tsugumi Harudori, Meme Tatane and Anya Hepburn, all of whom are members of the NOT class. The events of Soul Eater Not! take place before those seen in Soul Eater.
I like Soul Eater, and I like slice of life. I also own both volumes of the Soul Eater Not! manga that are currently available, so I’m looking forward to seeing this.

So that’s pretty much what I will definitely be watching during Spring. I have no doubt that the list will get bigger, but the anime I have mentioned in this post are things I will definitely watch… er, as long as they are subbed by someone…

About Rory

I enjoy writing, manga, anime and video games, so naturally here on my blog, you will find anime reviews, Nintendo news and other such things that I deem interesting.

Pretty much all these shows are on my list as well. I’m hoping Soul Eater NOT is at least remotely yurirific. The descriptions seems to allude to the show having yuri in it of some variety.
Give me a “Yes” or “No” answer.

Soul Blade will hopefully be as good as Queen’s Blade but it’s unlikely. Perhaps it’ll be as good as Senran Kagura.

The other shows here I’m super-mega-deluxe hyped for.
