Wake Up, Girls! is about a group of seven girls forming an idol group together. The title comes from the name of that group.
Things start with a 50 minute film entitled Wake Up, Girls!: Seven Idols, which details how the girls were brought together. It also shows that Mayu Shimada was previously an idol with the ‘I-1 Club’, but she had put that behind her.
The series starts where the film leaves off, with Wake Up, Girls! recovering from a bit of bad luck. Nothing has immediately stood out to me, but I will continue to stick with it.
I’ll check out the movie before picking up the first episode then, hopefully once I get a premium account.
