Once again, a certain plumber returns to grace the Wii U, along with some familiar friends. This particular game feature 4-player co-op, with 5 different characters to choose from. Each character has their own unique abilities. One is average all round, one jumps higher, one can float, one runs faster and the other has a unique attack.
Of course, I’m talking about Super Mario 3D World. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad and one other character venture forth together in a game that seems to improve with each trailer I have seen.
When people saw the first trailer for this game, there was cries of “where is Super Mario Galaxy 3?”. However, as more was revealed about the game, people really started to appreciate it.
Actually, this game does have links with Super Mario Galaxy. I won’t say any more than that.
Just like the 3DS’s Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario 3D World combines the side-scrolling Mario games with the exploration of the 3D games (Super Mario 64 for example).
So, yeah, this month is good for two of Nintendo’s biggest franchises. The great thing is, I love both the Mario and Zelda franchises, and having new games come along for both in the same month… well, that’s awesome.
