BlazBlue: Alter Memory is based on the BlazBlue series of fighting games. I’ve only played one game in the series, but I don’t think that should affect my judgement of this as an anime series.
Of course, as one would expect from an anime based on a fighting game, there are action scenes. Whilst they were fairly fun to watch, they felt as if they were over a little too quickly. However, that was only one episode, and the first one.
The characters are all familiar to those who have played the games. My personal favourite, Makoto Nanaya, appears during the end credits, but so does everyone else. Well, whether she appears or not won’t really affect how I judge this anime.
Eagerly looking forward to more, but I think Kill La Kill might have the crown of best action anime this season.
